Jeffrey Epstein & The Curious Case of Brett Kavanaugh
Why DID Jeffrey Epstein care so much about Brett Kavanaugh??
November 12 was a crazy day, right?
When the day began, it really seemed like the thing we had to look forward to the most was the new episode of South Park. And South Park, to its credit, didn’t disappoint. One of the main plot points in last Wednesday’s episode was that, as part of his conspiracy to get Donald Trump to abort Satan’s baby, the pint-sized JD Vance seduced the president and the two ended up having sex in the White House bedroom.
Little did we know that mere hours before the episode would make it to air, the House Oversight Committee would release a smorgasbord of files related to a SEPARATE political sex scandal… namely, they released over 23,000 of the Epstein files, with 20,000 or so alone being private correspondence that the dead pedophile financier had with everyone from the alleged predator formerly known as Prince Andrew, to new age guru Deepak Chopra, to even former Harvard president Larry Summers, who while I was writing this has announced he is stepping away from “public commitments” in the wake of the emails’ release.
NOTE: since writing this, I’ve actually discovered The Courier has created a searchable database of all the emails. This sure would have made MY life easier! But if you want to search for names in here, have fun! Just be warned that Jeffrey Epstein has, to put it mildly, completely DOGSHIT grammar and spelling. Have fun!
The House Oversight email drop is quite interesting, but still doesn’t tell a complete story of what we want to know when we want to know about Jeffrey Epstein. It DOES teach us that Epstein did not know how to type. I mean for the love of GOD are these emails hard to read.
We now know that he was friendly with journalists across the world, especially at the New York Times… perhaps a bit too friendly. We know that countless Men of Industry and other influential types often reached out to Epstein for advice - both business-related AND sexual. Ugh.
We also know that Epstein claimed to have dirt on Trump - a LOT of dirt. And so, so, so many people reached out to Epstein as if he were the AUTHORITY on Donald Trump. Hmmmm. Across the emails, he also claimed to have spent time with Trump many, many years after Ghislaine Maxwell claimed the two had cut contact - and that he also gave Russia dirt on Trump. All in all, a rather illuminating read that offers some interesting insight into the goings-on of Jeffrey Epstein within the worlds of business and politics.
You could throw a dart and write an entire article about Epstein’s connections with any random person you want. But there’s a set of names that I wanted to focus on today, since Sami and I just went over the emails in full yesterday. One of those names is redacted, officially, within the emails. But there’s a really interesting exchange from September 28 and 29, 2018 that… kinda gives up the game.
Sender: [REDACTED]
Time: 09/28/18 07:29:13 PM
Message: Did u see the maher show?
Sender: jeeitunes@gmail.com (aka Jeffrey Epstein)
Time: 09/29/18 03:26:21 AM
Message: Yes, well done. Only one 5 min round not enough. I think your thoughts should be posed as questions rather than declarative statements. ie. Are you aware that trump has added 10 trillion in value. ?? Isnt it a fact that.. would you admit that…
So, let’s break that down. It’s an exchange where somebody asks Epstein whether he’d seen the newest episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. Epstein responds by saying “well done” and “YOUR thoughts should be posed as questions,” which tells us that whoever the sender is was the guest on the September 28, 2018 episode of Bill Maher. Well, who was the guest that day, you might ask?
Oh. So it’s Neil deGrasse Tyson.
No, I’m joking. Neil’s not in this email drop directly, though an article referencing his work pops up in nine different files the committee dropped. Evelyn Farkas, Max Brooks, and April Ryan also don’t appear within the drop. I think you know where I’m going with this.
Steve Bannon, in redacted form, appeared in Jeffrey Epstein’s inbox at least once a week, every week, from June 2018 until Epstein’s death in prison. It’s not a secret that Bannon was “making a documentary” about Epstein in his final days at all, or even that their friendship may have been friendlier than Bannon wants us to know. We’ve spoken here before, for instance, about how Bannon even LIVED with Epstein at two of his homes.
What these emails make clear, however, are that Steve Bannon was trying to rehabilitate Jeffrey Epstein’s image. For whatever reason, it’s not all that clear.
What IS clear is that Bannon and Epstein were clearly much closer than working associates. And the most eyebrow raising part of their correspondence, to me, has to do with their communications regarding none other than Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
In case you need a refresher, or in case you weren’t paying attention seven years ago, the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was one of the most controversial of my lifetime. From the moment Donald Trump nominated him on July 9, 2018, Kavanaugh was a relatively unpopular pick to replace the retiring Anthony Kennedy, but he wasn’t TOO controversial throughout his confirmation hearing on September 4. Sure, Democrats wanted access to documents from his time working for the George W. Bush administration, and they hated his repugnant politics. But in the grand scheme of Trump Administration fuckery, he was… benign. Evil politically, but benign.
And then came the Washington Post article.
Within the article came a bombshell: California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford alleged that when she was a teenager, she had been sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh. We don’t need to relitigate the details, but I’ll never forget what Ford stated about Kavanaugh:
“I thought he might inadvertently kill me. He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing.”
Even though Kavanaugh denied the allegations, the Senate Judiciary Committee agreed that testimony needed to be heard from both Ford and Kavanaugh before they could proceed. According to SCOTUSBlog, over 20 million people watched the proceedings from home, and millions more watched online. But from print to Senate vote, it took only 12 days to litigate and “investigate” before the Senate voted Brett Kavanaugh into the Supreme Court.
Now, why am I reminding us of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings? Because over the course of many, many pages of emails, they were of great interest to Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein, who began speaking about the hearings every… single… day. Sometimes multiple times per day. Technically, their discussions of Kavanaugh began in August, but where we want to start is on September 20, 2018, when Jeffrey Epstein, out of the blue, emailed Steve Bannon the following exchange… and by the way, these are all Epstein’s own typos. Do not judge me:
JE: Your times up movement strength. Prophetic in kavanaugh
SB: Scary
JE: every guy can visualize himself siting in that chair, being harangued by Harris Feinstein etc. did you grab, grope. How many drinks. How often.. can you categorically denie it didn’t happen. . yikes
SB: The victim must be heard and must be believed
JE: But as a political move, do the dems get a “ good move sir”
Now, I don’t really know what to make of this exchange, beyond it literally being a convicted pedophile waxing philosophical about the HORRORS of being grilled for your alleged sexual misconduct. Bannon’s response, knowing his general demeanor, is probably sarcastic. Which means that Steve Bannon and a convicted pedophile were joking about Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations. Classy.
But it gets worse on September 22.
JE: This judiciary hearing is a trap!! Ive been through many of these. MANY!! She will cry, make sordid allegations. Say she feels bullied, fearful, traumatized. Every thing bad in her life was s result of the rape attempt. Suffered anxiety! Her relationships with men etc. this is a very special skill set needed.
JE: Ive sat in kavanaugh chair. Im thinking of November
I find this exchange really interesting for a few reasons. For starters, Bannon never actually responds to Epstein’s anxiety over poor widdo Brett Kavanaugh. We all know those kinds of friendships, folks, and considering that in 99% of Epstein’s email exchanges he is NOT that friend… he must have thought Bannon was pretty neat to share these anxieties now, didn’t he? But it’s that second message in particular: “im thinking of November.”
I can’t really say for certain what exactly Epstein is talking about here; I took to my personal Epstein timeline and based at least on publicly known information, the most important November of Jeffrey Epstein’s life was still two months away, when Julie K. Brown at The Miami Herald released part one of her bombshell report, “Perversion of Justice,” about Epstein’s “sweetheart deal” and his extensive history of child sex trafficking.
But the second most important November is November 2011… when Jeffrey Epstein was registered as a level three sex offender. Now, I’m not 100% certain why this would be the November Epstein is referring to, or why Epstein wouldn’t just say “November 2011.” But in regards to Epstein’s time in court, this is the best I’ve got. Still, this is a really fascinating admission from the man - especially since basic laws of grammar would dictate that he’s referring to the most recent November.
Which just so happens to have been a November he claimed, via email and without evidence, to have spent time with “david fizel, hanson, trump.” Make of that what you will, since this claim isn’t verified yet, even if it is possible… since Trump was indeed in Palm Beach that Thanksgiving. Again… make of that what you will. Because unless there’s another November event we don’t know about, it’s either his 2011 level three sex offender hearing… or THAT November.
The day after Kavanaugh’s sexual assault hearing, Steve Bannon emailed Epstein:
SB:What did u think of yesterday??
JE: horrible choice of prosecutor woman. critical and maybe lethal mistake.. prosecutors don’t cross examine, they prosecute.. power on their side. she should have been a criminal defense attorney.. is there a history of anxiety in your family, was the lights on in the bedroom.? did you ever see kavanaugh again? How many times before. ? how did you get home 8 miles from the alleged party if you did not drive.? who drove you, etc
JE: who were the people on the beach you spoke to .? did you use kavanaughs name which attys did you interview.? did you use kavauaghs name. ? the therapist notes are inconsistent with your story. . 4 boys. did you run out of the house. . how did you hear the conversation with he bathroom door closed.?
JE: instead of . are you certain it was kavanaugh.? that’s a prosecution question, not a defense question DOPE!!
Jeffrey Epstein had a lot to say about Christine Blasey Ford. In fact, just two days later, he seemed to have some direct suggestions for Steve Bannon… to pass on to Donald Trump.
JE: i delayed my trip a day. so im still around. tell burke they should make sure they ask ford about her medications, what type and for how long.. my guess is that katz won’t let her answer
SB: Roger
JE: https://www.pharmacytimes.com/news/8-medications-that-may-cause-memory-loss
SB: Is this a hint
JE: duh
JE: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321089419 False memories in social anxiety disorder
JE: he couldn’t recall if the lie detector was given the same day as her mothers funeral or the next day.? MEDS
SB: Oh I get it now
In case you didn’t click through those links Epstein sent Bannon, the first is an article from the Pharmacy Times listing a number of medications that potentially cause memory loss. The second was an article about false memories as a result of social anxiety disorder. This… is Jeffrey Epstein attempting to give Steve Bannon advice on how to discredit the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford in order to fast track the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. This is BIG, right? Does that mean that Jeffrey Epstein is SUCH an evil genius that he was able to get Brett Kavanaugh confirmed to the SUPREME COURT???
In short: no.
In slightly less short: even if this would have been a good gambit on his end, it would have been too little too late for Epstein. These emails were on September 30, 2018. The Senate hearing on the allegations against Kavanaugh happened on September 27, and I think it’s safe to say that with a 51-49 majority for Republicans, the writing was already on the walls regarding Brett Kavanaugh becoming a Supreme Court Justice.
What is truly fascinating about this exchange, however, is that it paints an exhaustive picture, in so few words, of a prolific predator who saw himself in Brett Kavanaugh. Jeffrey Epstein viewed himself as a victim of cancel culture, before we even knew what cancel culture was. There is no evidence that Epstein felt any remorse for his crimes, and there is no evidence within these emails that he felt remorse for any other victims of similar crimes… only remorse for men who committed actions similar to his own.
Within Brett Kavanaugh, Jeffrey Epstein saw a kindred spirit. He saw someone to root for. And perhaps most importantly… he saw a surrogate in Christine Blasey Ford that he could get revenge on in lieu of any of his own victims. Skip ahead to October 24, 2018, before Brown’s article but after Kavanaugh’s confirmation, and you will find this exchange about the “film” Bannon was working on with Epstein:
SB: Hey. My guy told me you have an idea for a better trailer for film?
JE: Add Kavanaugh, Canada trade, Maxine waters. screaming.. Kavanaugh hearing congressman Blumenthal, the liar. Talking about one lie means all lies. . I think a short ground and pound. Instead of rehashing napoleons battle plans for Waterloo.
JE: Add Pelosi being asked if she leaked the blade ford document.
JE: Blast
JE: Blasey
It appears that the unreleased trailer for Bannon’s film was going to be a montage of “lies” that would eventually reveal something of what Epstein saw as an even bigger lie: the persecution of Jeffrey Epstein by the United States government. Christine Blasey Ford represented all of his accusers; Brett Kavanaugh represented him.
This doesn’t tell us what we want to know about Jeffrey Epstein, such as his collaborators and enablers, as well as the crimes they are directly implicated in. You might think that doesn’t mean much, but I’m here to tell you it means a whole lot more than we may have known. Because in the world of Jeffrey Epstein, there was no bigger victim than him.
And that, more than any of the crimes he committed, paints a picture of someone far, far darker than we even knew before.

When the confirmation hearings of Brett Kavanaugh were going on, I was full on remembering the confirmation hearings for Clarence Thomas. I believed their accusers at the time, and I believe them now.
*can relate to Anita Hill and, to Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick*
At the time and ever since I have wondered, with all the brilliant legal minds available to choose from for USSC justice nominees, why put forward someone credibly accused of attempted rape of a minor? And then, why fight so hard for such a weak and flawed choice? But of course, it was never about true merit.
